On
26 April 1916...
The
company began its activity in 1916, when GIUSEPPE BACCI, manager
director in a bank, created, together with his five sons , the COTTON
AND JUTA POWER LOOM WEAVING.
The
company's production slowed down owing to the First War, that cost
the family one of its sons, the firstborn ALFONSO.
During the ensuing years the four
brothers' hard working and dedication gived their results and, in
1925 the company started its own collection, taking its first steps
in the wool industry, winning the attention and esteem of new and important
clients. In 1935 they started to build the new factory.
The
second world conflict, destroying everything by its passing, broke
off the usual activity and production of the company.
The factory was closed. ALESSANDRO, the
youngest of the brothers, was accused of espionage by the the Germans
and killed. With him all the company's equipments were destroyed.
The
postwar period (1945/50) was characterised by the recontruction.
Moved by the vigour and vitality of its third generation (FRANCESCO,
GIUSEPPE, ALFONSO, MARIO), the Bacci's rebuilt the factory, completing
it with the finishing department, equipped with the most modern engines.
The company was called LANIFICIO FRATELLI BACCI, and it started the
first satisfactory business relations with foreign countries.
The
inundation of 1966 flooded the factory, but the family managed another
time, with the support of friends, clients and supplying firms , to
keep the industry going.
Since the seventies LANIFICIO FRATELLI
BACCI went the way of a constant productive, organizing and technological
expansion, through areas enlarging as well as departments reorganizing.
At the beginning of the eighties the
company became a joint-stock company, and distinguished itself by
the massive introduction of data processing systems, which made its
activity even more dynamic and elastic.
During
the same ten years the company was witness of the fourth generation's
entry: ALESSANDRO, CRISTINA, CECILIA, FILIPPO, FRANCESCA, LORENZO,
SERENA, LUIGI, PAOLO, whom were entrusted with the different departments.
Even today different generations are bound by a lively and fruitful
business relation: youth and experience, innovation
and tradition.
